At the beginning of October, V2i participated in the launch of LAY2FORM, a Horizon 2020 European project. The meeting took place in Porto (Portugal), at the facilities of INEGI, the coordinator of the project. The project will have a duration of four years and aims to manufacture a pilot line for manufacturing hybrid parts, composed of sheets of metal and composite sheets. In the pilot line, several technologies will be integrated to perform non-destructive tests in line with the zero-defect targets. Furthermore, simulation and online monitoring technologies will be used to make corrections to the process parameters using self-learning technologies.

The members of the consortium are: Inegi (Portugal), Aimen (Spain), Rescoll (France), ESI (France), Fagor Arrasate (Spain), IK4- Ikerlan (Spain), Mondragon University (Spain), V2i (Belgium), Inapal (Portugal), Mecasonic (Spain), and Mondragon Assembly (Germany).

As a partner of the project’s consortium, V2i is responsible for the development of an automated in-line quality diagnosis system based on shearography and thermography.
